Uiltjes breien-Knitting Owls

Het charmante uiltjespatroon van de trui ontworpen door Kate Davies, is al in omloop sedert de jaren veertig van vorige eeuw. Na enige aanpassing bleek het ook geschikt om een armband te overtrekken:
The charming owls pattern on the sweater designed by Kate Davies exists since about 1940. After some adaptation I used it for a bracelet:



Wittie de Uil, behorend tot de familie Steiff, is een dierbare jeugdherinnering: zijn oogjes konden opgeladen worden door een lichtbron zodat ze nadien in het donker oplichtten...
Wittie Owl, from the Steiff family, is a memory from childhood: his eyes could be made fluorescent in the dark after being exposed to a light source...

Lentegroen-Spring green

Een winter, die strenger was dan gewoonlijk,
This winter, more severe than usual,


maakt het uitbarsten van de lente nog intenser:

Al dit uitgesproken lentegroen
Al this vibrant green


heeft mijn laatste garenaanwinsten duidelijk beïnvloed:
